In this diagram exoplanet systems are compared with the solar system. This can be read different things, such as exoplanets that revolve mostly around single stars. Or that our solar system is constructed quite differently than many other exoplanet systems. In our solar system small rocky planets and gas giants are inside and outside. As can be seen from the diagram, it is for many exoplanets systems but just the opposite.

Interesting that many exoplanets in a habitable zone (the area in the still water may occur) is orbiting its star. However, these are mostly gas giants on which is probably no life possible. These could be orbited by moons that offer better conditions for the genesis of life (see the life-module).

And even brown dwarfs are circled occasionally exoplanets. Even some free-floating exoplanets (Planemos) have been discovered. This exoplanets have no warming host star and drift through space.
